ST. JOHN'S VISIT TO OUR SCHOOL

St. John's officers came to our school.  They showed us how they help people when they are injured.
We also had a look at their mini ambulance. They showed us pictures of what the ambulance looks like inside.

We had a turn to feel and smell the oxygen tank. 

Two children from our class were lucky to wear a vest, gloves and hat. 

SPRING IS HERE

Spring is here.  It is the month of September.

We have been finger printing.  We used yellow paint for the petals.  We used green for the stem and leaves.  After it dried we glued a muffin case in the centre of the flower. Look at our pretty daffodils !!

ADAPTATION TO WEATHER

We adapt to weather by wearing clothes that suit the condition.We looked at different clothes that we wear.

This is what we wear in winter to stay warm. We wear jackets, beanie, gloves, slippers and woolly clothes.  These clothes are thick.  They are made of wool and polar fleece.

In the rain we adapt by wearing raincoats, gumboots or rain jackets. We can use an umbrella too.

Room 3 has been looking for the correct clothes to wear to adapt to the weather.

In summer we wear thin clothes. We wear T shirts, singlets and shorts.  Girls wear dresses. To keep cool we go to the pools for a swim and drink lemonade. We protect our skin by wearing sunscreen and sunhats.

WHANAUNGATANGA PONO (positive relationships)

In Room 3 we have been talking about positive relationships. We have been drawing pictures to show what it looks like and also writing stories about it.

This what we wrote about what whanaungatanga pono means

Whanaungatanga pono means we take turns on the monkey bars because that is Rosebank school value.  When my friends get hurt I care about him and that is positive relationships.

When you're going to the slide people are taking turns and caring about each other.  When people are taking turns we have to have positive relationships. When me and my friend is mad at each other we shake hands and we play with each other.  When we be kind we are being good to one another.

Beebots help us learn

Mrs Robyns has been bringing the Beebots and Constructabots to our class to help us learn about position and direction in mathematics.  The children can program the robots to go forwards and make quarter or half turns to get to a destination.  They have been learning about which way is 'left' and which is 'right'.
